COHK/HKOS 30th Anniversary/70th Anniversary Celebration Events
Together with the Hong Kong Ophthalmological Society, the College of Ophthalmologists of Hong Kong organized a series of events in celebration of important anniversaries this year. The events aim to create opportunities for members and fellows bonding, to serve the Hong Kong community in ophthalmic care and to plan ahead for the future.
2nd March 2024
Orbis Flying Hospital Visit
In collaboration with Orbis International, we organized a visit for our members,fellows and family members to the world-renowned Orbis Flying Hospital, whichwas visiting Hong Kong in March 2024.There were fantastic interactiveopportunities, including to trying out ophthalmic surgery simulators.

Hiking and Photography Tour
We organized a junk trip to Tung Lung Chau where we hiked along its beautifulcoast.Afterwards we were ioined by more members and fellows in enjoying alovely seafood dinner at Lamma lsland.

Golf for Vision Event
We held our charity golf tournament and event on the 2nd of May 2024 at the Hong Kong Clear Water Bay Golf and Country Club. All golfers enjoyed the good weather and atmosphere and helped raised funds for ophthalmic-related charities in Hong Kong.

Gourmet Dinner at Bâtard
Our gourmet dinner was held on 14th May 2024 at Bâtard in Western District. The evening was very popular with our members and fellows. Table prizes were kindly sponsored by senior fellows of our College.

Fencing Fun Day
A fencing fun day was organized on the 10th of June 2024. Members and fellows, some new to fencing and some with experience, enjoyed an exciting session together.
13th – 14th July 2024
Diabetic Retinopathy Public Education and Screening Event Day
We organized a public education and screening event on the 13th and 14th of July 2024. The event highlighted the importance of diabetic patients seeking ophthalmic care for potentially sight-threatening complications of diabetic retinopathy. Overall, more than 100 diabetic patients underwent comprehensive eye assessment by our members and fellows. Public talks were organized as well.

On 24th August 2024, Dr Patrick Tam, our College fellow, a well-known expert and entrepreneur in coffee, organized a very informative session about coffee in shop “ Knockbox Coffee”. Attendees had the fantastic opportunity to taste coffee from different origins, processing and roasting methods.

Gourmet Dinner at Club Bâtard
On 11th November 2024, we have another gourmet dinner gathering in the Club Bâtard in Central. We were served with the classical Cantonese cuisine from Hop Sze, one of the popular restaurants in Club Bâtard. More than 50 ophthalmologists and family joined the event.
