Welcome to the third issue of COHK E-News! In this issue, we are going to provide members with some updated news from the College and information on upcoming College activities.

1. Message from the President – Dr. Nancy Yuen

Dear Fellows and Members,

To improve communications with our fellows, the E news was launched to convey timely and important messages to our fellows. Thanks to Dr. Andy Cheng (Council member and E-News Editor), a couple of concise and timely messages was conveyed during this COVID 2019 via this new platform – E-News.

Over the last few months, The College has worked closely with The Academy of Medicine, to enhance and align CME activities for our fellows via online method.  Thanks to Prof. Clement Tham (Vice President General Affairs) and CME Sub-committee Chairman and his team, together with the various enthusiastic Ophthalmic teams in HA, Private and both Universities, HKOS, HKAPES, we have noted an enriched Continued Medical Education Program with high attendances.  We are delighted and will further work closely with various organizing teams to continue this good work.

For the trainees, due to COVID 2019 and Emergency Response Level in Hospital Authority.  Examinations of many Colleges cannot be conducted.  COHK, under the leadership of Dr. Yung Hon Wah (Vice President Professional Affairs) and Dr Alvin Young (Examination Subcommittee Chairman) are now working closely with the Committee members and coordinate with various teams for examinations.

Besides, our Conjoint COHK HKOS annual Public Education Program and Annual Scientific Meeting is now organized under the leadership of Dr Tommy Chan and Dr Robert Lam respectively.

Stay tuned to our E news and other communications.  Stay safe and vigilant.

I sincerely look forward to seeing you in our coming Annual General Meeting on 23 July 2020.
